Every answer below comes straight from how we run the shop every day.
On flat rate, you only get paid when there's work. We keep the board full with an aggressive Google Ads program, a loyalty rewards program, discounted rental cars, and automatic text and email reminders for due and declined work.
Jobs rotate fairly. When a customer comes back for work you recommended, that job goes back to you.

Labor guides are written for new, rust-free cars. Ours come in with rust, seized bolts and years of New England winters. So every job pays 20% over book. A 1.0-hour job pays you 1.2.
At a dealership, warranty work pays a fraction of the time it takes. Here it pays in full. If a part fails, you get paid the full time to replace it. Comebacks are handled fairly and without blame. We never punish a tech for something beyond their control.

Bill 50+ hours in a week and earn an extra $1 on every hour that week. Bill 60+ and earn an extra $3 on every hour. That's an extra $180 at 60 hours, on top of flat rate. Plus team bonuses when the shop hits its sales goals.
Every car gets a digital inspection with photos and video, so customers see what you see. Our service advisors are trained by ShopFix Academy, and we track average tech quote, closing ratio and ARO.
We pay you 3 hours a week to build your own quotes. You pick the right parts and price the job yourself, so there are no surprises. Techs who do it get faster and earn more.
“I'm big on equipping my people to succeed. They're only as good as the tools we give them.” — Jeffrey Roy, Owner

Free ongoing training through Tech Fix Academy, and we pay for your ASE tests when you pass. We go by skill and experience, and there's a clear, aggressive path to move up as you grow.
“My philosophy is to hire people and bring them up. Even if someone leaves someday, they leave in a far better place than when they joined.” — Jeffrey Roy, Owner
“Is it a perfect culture? No. But it's the best one I've ever seen, and as the owner, I insist on it.” — Jeffrey Roy, Owner

Come tour the shop and meet the team. Talk one-on-one with any of our techs, without management in the room. Shadow a tech during a real workday before you decide. When it's a fit, we make joining easy.
